Summary

There are no exceptions.” ---I’d never questioned the Games; they were just another form of entertainment that everyone here enjoyed. But now, thinking about the fact that one or both of us could die in less than a week or two, I begin to see what the districts’ tributes must have felt. But I can’t let myself think about that right now. I have to hope that we’ll both come through this okay.
