A mirror left broken to sing and be heard

“I was actually wondering if I could stay the night here, if that’s alright.” Susie turned back around to face Noelle, not quite brave enough to meet her gaze. “My uh, my Mom kicked me out, so I don’t… really…”Finally raising her eyes from the ground, Susie trailed off as she realized that Noelle’s face had gone white, her ears flattened back against her head. The girl was frozen, hands still over her mouth from where she’d been mid-laughter just seconds ago, eyes impossibly wide and pupils a vivid red. She looked… terrified, holy shit. Was it something she’d said?“Woah, Noelle, are you okay?” Susie lifted an arm towards her with obvious concern, and Noelle instantly stumbled back, shaking her head rapidly with her hands still clapped over her mouth. Her nostrils were flaring, and cold wind was still blowing through the open door, carrying Susie’s scent straight to her.Her voice was trembling."You need to leave. Now."
