Summary

Jack, drowning in grief after Ben’s death, lives in an apartment heavy with memories until he discovers Ben’s hidden sketchbook filled with tender drawings and notes capturing their love and everyday moments. The notebook slowly becomes his lifeline, showing him how Ben had seen joy in small, overlooked details, and stirring within Jack a fragile warmth that coexists with his pain. With encouragement from Ben’s sister Lena and the symbolic gift of a carved wooden bird, Jack begins to confront his guilt and allow himself to feel again. On Ben’s birthday, he revisits the meadow they once cherished, reading aloud from the notebook and eventually adding his own sketches, finding a balance between grief and renewal. By picking up charcoal and creating again, Jack realizes he isn’t leaving Ben behind but carrying him forward, transforming his sorrow into a quiet, enduring inspiration for life and art.
