Imposed Isolation

The door was ajar, and she saw his body sprawled out on the mattress. Effie watched as an arm moved out from underneath him, and he slowly turned his palm up. He must have heard her soft footsteps coming towards him in the quiet of the night. She knew Haymitch well enough over the years to realize that the open palm was his way of telling her to get into bed – an unspoken invitation. Effie smiled slightly. As she walked into the bedroom, a part of her knew that she would always come whenever Haymitch beckoned.--*--Both of the District Twelve tributes died earlier in the day and Effie can't sleep as the memories replay in her mind, so she walks through their shared suite and goes to Haymitch for comfort.
