Summary
It's James T. Kirk's birthday. As per custom, he calls his mother. As per custom, she has several things to say about his appearance, his performance in Starfleet, and why on Earth he's even considering the post of Vice-Admiralty. In which Jim must deal with a whole room of old-faced Admirals, an exasperated mother, and an emotionally troubled First Officer and Chief Medical Officer, all the evening after he's saved the world. Typical.
