Summary
Mahiru had made a promise to herself. She couldn't die. She wouldn't die. Es had promised only three trials, and the third could start any day now. God knew what Shidou might do if she died under his care, or if that would count as a second murder to be judged for. If the judging system were based on two out of three votes, he would be out already. She didn't want to be responsible for him being voted guilty, no matter what that might mean. More than that, she didn't want him to feel like it was his fault the odds were stacked against the both of them.
