Summary
Life had never been simple, for Eleven. It was—and is—a colorful, tumultuous ride; hurt had encompassed her early years. Pain had spun its web through her memories: a spider making its home in her heart.
Her first joy had been him– had been Mike. Despite the fact that that day had been the beginning of the end for their ragged bunch, it had still been a beginning. It had jumpstarted something in her– some voice that whispered 'I am more than I was' to her jumbled brain. Some part of her still holds guilt, for that; her Genesis had been Will’s Revelation.
When Mike had kissed her in that empty school cafeteria, it had left her perplexed. Safety she understood; Mike was safe. But this new development had left her without a clear direction to move in– was it right, to kiss someone to garner a place to call home? She hadn’t had a particular moral compass, at the time, so she hadn’t thought too much into it. To love was to gain. To give was to survive.
Or:
El's perspective of the events of stranger things, altered– with byler and elmax development along the way.
