Summary
Takes place immediately after Belle leaves the Dark Castle in Skin Deep (1x12). Happens before (and during) Belle’s conversation with Dreamy/Grumpy in Dreamy (1x14). Companion piece to Ghosts, but may be read as a standalone.
Belle leaves. She leaves the Dark Castle and its master behind and makes her way through the forest. She finds her way to the next town and stops by a tavern. All the while, she reels from the whirlwind of events that left her reeling in its quick succession: she and Rumplestiltskin shared True Love’s Kiss, he threw her into the dungeon, then he told her to leave.
And even after everything, the only certainty she knows is that she loves him.
