even if hopeless (the rain won't wash us away)

It was raining when both Uika and Umiri stood by their lockers, eyeing the courtyard. Uika had completely neglected checking the weather report, and Umiri– well, Taki forgot her umbrella and mistook Umiri’s for her own and took off with it. The only reason they were stranded was because Taki had stormed out with a daydreaming Raana in tow, both huddled under Umiri’s umbrella.

Uika winced at Umiri’s eerie silence, and the bassist’s eyes landed on her for a heavy moment like she was calculating the risks of staying back with Uika. Uika would be filled with dread too, if she were to be stuck with herself.

Regardless, Uika could only fidget under the stare to wave off the discomfort, “Waiting is all we can do, I suppose…”

“Right. I wish I could quip with a joke, but I’m running short,” Umiri said with her usual deadpan.Uika has a conversation with Umiri and realizes she's more than her depravity.
