Beyond the Seven Seas

Nearly a year after the Book of Peace was returned to Syracuse, the Twelve Cities should be living in peace. Instead, they stand on the brink of chaos.

Weakened by an attempt on his life, Proteus searches for a cure that seems impossible. Impossible, that is, until the arrival of a stranger named Tulio. Tulio, who, with no memories of his past, can't explain how he arrived in Syracuse or why he's bonded to one of Eris' Constellation pets.

Convinced that healing for himself and a way for Tulio to break the bond with Felis lies in an ancient myth, Proteus and Tulio set out on a voyage that will take them into waters from which nobody has ever returned.

Meanwhile, on the edge of unchartable waters, the crew of the Chimera encounter a strange island, where they rescue Miguel and Altivo. Though skeptical of Miguel's story of coming from another time and place, Sinbad offers Miguel aid in searching for Tulio.

Two voyages set out, separate in purpose at first, but soon find themselves overlapping. As Sinbad and Marina struggle to accept Proteus' illness, Miguel wonders if Tulio will ever be the same.

And over it all, Eris watches and waits.
