If Centross had been remotely self-aware, he would have realized that he had woken up in a bad mental state. Nightmares and anxiety had not helped matters, especially after what happened at the masquerade. He could have seen what was coming, and perhaps attempted to tell Ocie to leave- though whether or not she would have listened is up for debate. However, Centross did not often have much self-awareness unless he was reflecting on events from the past. This was not the past. So, Centross grew increasingly confused as the voice yelling at him became muffled and static, and his mind seemed to detach from his surroundings.That is, until a hand grabbed his wrist.
