Billy Gunn is an aging outlaw turned sheriff in a small western town. He taught his sons everything he knew, and they in turn grew up idolizing him. Everyone expects that they're next in line to take over as sheriff's deputies when he blindsides them by hiring two strangers from back east.The boys are heartbroken and confused, when an unknown man in black with a strange accent swoops in from out of town, making all of these promises and treating them like they’re something important, like they matter. It all sounds so good that they don’t mind that his face looks awfully close to one on a wanted poster down at the jail.(Or: Billy Gunn doesn't want his sons to follow in his footsteps and become lawmen. So they choose to follow in his other set of footsteps instead.)
