Jaskier may not admit it but he desperately wants to learn more about the mysterious prince of Redania. Radovid wants to escape his gilded cage for a while, and find out more about how one of the most famous bards on the continent has gotten involved with so many political affairs. It only makes sense for them to set out on a journey together to find out more about each other and themselves. Shenanigans ensue.

Radovid glanced warily between the scattered halves of Rience’s corpse and the route to the embattled Aretuza. He opted for the path of least danger and hastened to keep up with the others, muttering under his breath, “There goes my last chance.” The witcher’s stride didn’t pause, but he did look over at Radovid with a slightly raised eyebrow. “Jaskier suggested we get rid of Rience to prove ourselves to you.” Radovid angled his head over his shoulder in a way that vaguely indicated the burning body parts they’d just left behind. “But I guess you didn’t need us.” Geralt looked away — not back towards the body, but ahead toward his family. Yennefer and Jaskier walked and talked with their heads close together as Yennefer gesticulated between smoking school and Thanedd’s coast line. Cirilla scanned the horizon with one hand on her sword and the other hand in Jaskier’s grasp. “No,” Geralt agreed. “We don’t.” Ciri was still in the cabin when Radovid showed up, and left it with him and Jaskier in tow. This tiny change in plans will change the course of history.

Ciri, Geralt and Yennefer have returned to the continent again to winter in Kaer Morhen with their family, but this year Jaskier is coming too, and he’s bringing his son.A story about family, belonging, and learning to value the simple things in life.[I really recommend going back and reading part one of this series if you want this to make much sense (it’s set between chapter 16 and 17 of that fic) but also I can’t tell you what to do so do what you want I guess XD.
