Final Fantasy IX

King's Dagger and Queen's Angel

by SKayLanphear

Zidane never returned following the war, leaving his friends to assume the worst. Garnet’s had to move on with her life as best she can, but some of the things Zidane left behind will always weigh on her heart. Zidane, meanwhile, had intended to return to Alexandria, but life put him on a different path—one not unlike Garnet’s own in the advent of rescuing thousands of genomes from the ruins of Terra. But—as many others silently realize—it’s inevitable that their paths cross once again.

Final Fantasy IX

strangled, scorched, and screaming

by createandconstruct

"Zidane has finally stopped his standoffish position. He faces the group but keeps his head down, as if in contemplation. Though that optimistic interpretation is wiped away as Zidane reaches up and rubs around his collar. The usual ribbon there is loose, the lace rumpled and hanging open. Yet, such minor details barely matter when, for the first time since the battle with that monstrous worm in the sand, Steiner finally hears Zidane speak. A sword dragging across worn-down broken cobble stones. A fine old man dying of a heavy wet cough. A criminal begging beneath the threads of a tightening noose. Such are the images that flash before Steiner’s eyes as Zidane’s voice croaks."--(Sometimes, a confused teammate is the most dangerous enemy of all.)

by Yasi_Euphoria

“Zidane loses his first game as Real Madrid coach and the fans are out of FeliZidane already. At being subbed Isco and James received one of the loudest whistles ever heard at the Bernabeu. Some fans are also putting the blame on the midfielders. And it’s true that today was not the best game for Luka Modric and Toni Kroos”Sometimes it's better to keep quiet until things settle down around you...
