Running for the River

Shiloh picks up her feet and she is running, running, running. Everything is too much. School shouldn’t - shouldn’t be like this. She should be able to study and read and write, without feeling her entire world close in on her like this, but some days are worse than others. Her shrink says she’s triggered, when things like this happen. Shiloh imagines that there is an invisible gun, and almost feels better about the idea that there’s something bigger and more fearsome sending her into this kind of a tailspin.
