Vecna fails to kill Max and is significantly wounded during the encounter with Steve, Robin, and Nancy. He decides that this world is too imperfect to be fixed and will destroy itself anyways, so he abandons his efforts and turns his attention to an entirely different universe. El and Will can sense that he's fled, so El tries to open a portal to follow him to this other universe. El doesn't have the energy to make it through the portal before it closes, but don't worry...Steve got sucked in instead.------Meanwhile, The Avengers are having a meeting, attempting yet again to locate the whereabouts of Loki's scepter, when a young adult wielding a nail-filled baseball bat and an old-fashioned walkie-talkie comes crashing through a portal in the ceiling and onto their meeting table. The guy mumbles out some nonsense about a Vecna, curse, and gates before passing out, and the portal thing disappears before the gang can investigate it. So, now they're holding him for questioning and waiting for him to wake up.
