He just doesn’t understand.He supposes it’s been a long time since he and the team really talked – what was it, 10, 11 months now? – and even though things had felt like they were getting better, it’s still kind of hard to suddenly say “oh, yeah, I’m married by the way?” and harder still to add “also, I’m a Dad?”So it had kind of just lingered, time stretching further and further. But it wasn’t like he’d been hiding it either – that’s what he doesn’t understand.He’s talked enough about Jay and the twins – wasn’t that why Eddie had blown up at him in the first place? – has filed the paperwork, even changed the name on his turnout.Now he knows they just don’t look at him anymore, don’t listen, and… he gets it.He does.He knows he’s exhausting sometimes.
