Katsuki watches as Izuku turns his back on him. As his bright green hair fades into nothing with every footstep he takes away from the blonde. They’re fast— desperate, even, with Izuku not sparing another glance at Katsuki. And it’s comical how much it hurts. The idea that Katsuki has been broken down into nothing but a best friend— another one of his classmates. Just another puzzle piece to fit into Izuku’s hectic life.Because in the past, Katsuki would’ve hated being in his current position. Merely a checkpoint for Izuku to run by. But now, things are different. He is different. And Katsuki hates this moment for all the wrong reasons.“Hey, Izuku,” Katsuki says, voice cracked and bruised from the amount of damage he’s taken. “Can I still catch up to you…?”Or; Katsuki learns to walk away.
