It's the year 2018, the Kura is about to launch and the newly promoted Director Momoki brings on their first recruit, transferring Narihisago from the prison he's been confined to for the two years since he pleaded guilty to murdering the Challenger. Momoki's effort to salvage the connection with his old partner becomes monumental when Narihisago's tattered mental state comes to light. Everyone has their work cut out for them. Adjusting to the Mizuhanome proves less like playing a video game than the Wellside crew were told as they work their first case—the brutal drive of the Face-lifter. Before long the staff learns what it's like to work with a killer to catch a killer.Canon compatible, expanding off the world in the same feel as the episodes, filling in gaps.
