Still, he keeps up on news about the guy and when he learns that Langa's father was killed in an accident, he starts sending him letters. Drawings, really, that he can't admit to himself are love letters. He just hopes they brighten Langa's day, if he's receiving them at all. Everything gets turned upside-down, however, when that same Langa Hasegawa suddenly transfers to Reki's school. It'll make giving him the anonymous love letters a bit easier, though...

In theory, everyone on earth is supposed to have a soulmate. Someone who is perfect for them in every way. A storybook romance, or a best friend you can always confide in. Fate is supposed to pull them together at the right moment. Real life is never as easy as the stories though, and Fate has always had a way of fucking with vigilantes. Danny always wanted a soulmate. At least he did before he died, now his life (afterlife?) is just starting to get manageable. He’s settled into his new role, doing what he can for both the ghost and human world and is looking forward to a quiet (if excruciatingly boring) summer vacation when his life is literally turned upside down and he is forced to confront parts of his past that he’d rather remained buried. Damian has been resigned to the idea that he will have to protect his soulmate since he was a child. A soulmate is a weakness that others might choose to exploit. Nothing could have prepared him for the reality that is his perfect match. Perhaps he should have listened when his mother said his soulmate would have to be anything besides ordinary to compliment him.

Never again, Bruce told himself. He was broken, just like he'd always believed. It hurt too much. He couldn't bear it.All he was meant for was the fight. He was a dark knight, not a light one. He was not a father, and he would never try to fool himself again.Or, the Platonic Batfam Soulmark AU nobody asked for but I felt compelled to write.

While Thorin has a tea cup and a tiny, beautiful B on his wrist (that he keeps covered at all times), Bilbo's wrist is completely unmarked. This causes tension and misunderstanding until Thorin catches Bilbo with his back unclothed.

One day, a young girl sits on the edge of a well. On this day, she falls in. Then the next, she’s not even a ‘she’ anymore. He’s Peter Pettigrew — doomed to die at the hands of his (betrayed) friend’s son.Peter is selfish, bitter and brash. He’s not some fairy tale hero, he doesn’t care if everyone around him dies, as long as he lives. The marauders are annoying and childish. Survival is his priority, and he can’t afford to face distractions. This just makes the fact that soulmates are now apparently a thing all the more godawful.(And then another day years later he falls into an entirely new impossibility, Remus Lupin in tow, right into the third book of Harry Potter. Smack bang on the other Peter Pettigrew’s grave). It’s confusing and graceless, and entirely something that would happen to him of all people.—update schedule: have not forgotten, just <3 depressed <3working on the new chapter now

It’s a cruel, twisted joke from the universe, really, but it’s just the way it is. Everyone’s born with a date on their ribs — they call it their Mark Day (cute) — and on that day, it’s actually very simple, the destined love of your life and the other half of your soul ceases to join you in the land of the living. Fun, right? No, Eddie doesn’t think so either. But that’s probably because today is his Mark Day, and most people are a bit crabby on their Mark Day. We try not to hold it against them. Or, Eddie's soulmate is going to die today, and that's fine, really. He's never met her. It's just a cruel coincidence that Buck is struck by lightning on today of all days.
