Even If My Heart Shatters
by yllirya
There’s a light knock on the door that pulls him out of his thoughts. Neuvillette is sure it’ll be yet another worried Melusine who will try to convince him to stop working, pointlessly – he specifically asked them to not bother him again. The words are almost on his lips when the door opens, without his permission— —it’s Wriothesley. And Neuvillette wishes it wouldn’t be him. Strong arms sneak around his shoulders as Neuvillette is lifted into a warm, tight embrace. Into one that feels like love. As the rain stops, the clouds clear and the sun of the new day rises; Wriothesley is still not letting him go – even when half-asleep, Neuvillette is nothing but dead weight, pushing his beloved into the depths of his couch.
