“Do… Do you not remember him?” Mipha asked, and when Link shook his head no, she looked astounded. Link sets out to free Vah Medoh and Revali.

…And that had happened the first time he’d met Kass, seeing those orange eyes lock onto it with an unmistakable grief as he explained what it meant. If a stranger could see the feather and react so strongly, what had he missed? (Before fighting Vah Medoh, Link contemplates the lone blue feather that was braided into his hair.)

It really is funny just how little it takes to change someone's perception.

Revali wasn't keen on people, thats it. He wasn't keen, but he definitely wasn't keen on Link after hearing about him from others. He'd rather stay ignorant of his existence if he could. Fate has other plans.

Link tried very hard to "keep breathing" during a training session with Revali but the Rito is making it increasingly difficult. Link's feelings really shouldn't be the focus right now and it doesn't help that Revali isn't the easiest to read. However, when Link gets the opportunity to actually 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥 Revali he figures him out a little more.

During an impromptu game of “fuck, marry, kill”, Revali is forced to admit that murder is not the only option.— Written for Flash Fiction Friday’s prompt #306: ‘Forced to Choose’

Despite all of them supposedly being the same person, each Revali had his own quirks. Link had developed a soft spot for the Revali who wore his hair in a longer, singular braid and carried honesty like it was a piece of his heritage.

The calamity has been defeated and the Champions are revived on a pure white full moon. Everything is back to how it was, except not really. One hundred years has taken its toll on Hyrule- and where has the hero gone? Revali is sent on a quest to find Link (but not without a lot of angry squawking about it). He travels the lengths of Hyrule with nothing to go on other than a full library of photos the hero had left in Zelda's sheikah plate. As he journeys though, the question of 'where is Link' slowly transforms to 'who is Link?' because this grinning boy in the pictures surely cannot be the same stoic brick wall they all once knew. As extraordinarily talented as he is, he finds him all too fast and the questions only multiply from there.

Revali hates his soulmate, whoever they are, for saddling him with probably the worst soul words known to Hyrule. He hates him even more after he actually meets him.

“I don’t understand,” he says, and his arms are wrapped around himself now, as if he is cold. They are in Hebra, yes, but he can’t help but feel as if the cold has nothing to do with how he is beginning to shiver.“What do you mean you don’t understand?” Revali demands, turning back to him, his glare even deeper on his face than before. “I’ve expressed myself clearly to you many times before - it is no fault of mine that you see yourself as better than I simply because of the sword on your back. Surely you cannot blame me for cutting my losses here - I’ve wasted enough time on you as it is.”“I-I don’t understand,” Link repeats, because for once, he truly doesn’t know how it was that he didn’t please this individual. He thought he understood, before, but Revali has grown more and more upset, and Link simply does not understand what he has done wrong to cause this.He wants to fix this.It is the first time in his life he can ever truly remember wanting something. It is as his vision begins to blur (he doesn't know why) that Revali’s expression shifts.“Oh,” the Rito says, and suddenly, his face is no longer stuck in a glare, but in horror, and a deep, deep sadness in his eyes. “Oh, no.”

"I can’t talk to you during the day, but it seems I’m able to while you sleep.” Mipha explains, “We’re connected, now that I’ve given you my power.” He doesn’t respond, too shocked to formulate words, so she continues, “I tried to stimulate your memories by thinking about my own, did it work? I was aiming for the first time we met.” * “Mipha has been triggering some memories in my dreams, and I was hoping you could too? We didn’t know each other as long, I don’t think, but I’m sure we have some.” He looks up at Revali hopefully, but all emotions have vanished from his features. “You… don’t remember me at all?” Revali asks, searching Link’s eyes, and he sounds almost desperate. * “Did it trigger a memory?” Teba asks, and Link nods numbly. “If I may ask,” He sounds hesitant, which doesn’t bode well, “In the memory, what color was the bead the champion placed in your hair when he braided it?” Link isn’t sure why that would matter, but he gives the information anyway. “Purple… you say.” Teba’s face is one of someone whose world has been turned on its axis. “It would seem the stories the Rito passed down over the ages of our champion leave out an… important detail.” He manages finally. Revali might have left this world with no regrets, had Link not been so persistent. He can't bring himself to regret it, though. Revalink, post-calamity, follows in-game canon events until it doesn't.

Revali sighed and again touched his jade ring, staring at the smaller one he could barely see on Link's ear.It wouldn't be easy. But he would get his husband back, one way or another.(aka, Revali and Link got married before the Calamity but Link forgot)

With no memories, no shrines beyond the Great Plateau, and only the weapons he could scavenge along the way, somehow, Link defeated Calamity Ganon just three days after the voice of the Princess woke him from his sleep. The battle leaves him wounded, but alive, and miraculously, the Champions awaken in their Divine Beasts, unharmed. At first, it seems that all will settle itself in an end come far quicker than anyone could have imagined. Then Link disappears of his own accord, and no one, not even his former closest friends can find him. Perhaps too burdened by a past he cannot drag back from the void, or too smothered by the reality of that past come back to life, Link runs, and disappears into the wild, unfamiliar Hyrule, where his former friends cannot hope to seek him out.Except one, of course, who isn’t foolish enough to expect the knight of the past to ever emerge from the broken boy who beat the Calamity back so fiercely out of guilt.
