Summary
The highways are massive blockades of cars and weeds. Travel on foot takes ages, and there’s always the threat of patrols, renegade groups of bandits and vandals and thieves who charge a toll that you have to pay if you like breathing. Most people pay. The bodies of those who don’t dangle off the sides of overpasses, warnings for all to see. It wouldn’t be safe, taking a traveling show on the road with the risk of ending up a corpse. No one ever risks the waterways though. It’s genius.
