Summary
Ra’s forces Damian to return to the League of Shadows. Bruce falls apart thinking Damian chose to go back. Feeling like he’s failed his son, he blames the violence of the Batman and gives up the mantle. When he says goodbye to Gordon, the commissioner believes that one of the many other Gotham-area heroes will take up the cowl as before. But they don’t. Damian was supposed to be the next Batman.
Bruce works to clean up Gotham PD the “right way” and focuses on Wayne Enterprises.
Jon takes Damian’s place in the Titans. He’s left angry and alone. The loss hardens him, if only a little. He’s still the embodiment of sunshine, but no one is able to get close to him anymore. Dami leaves a hole in him that just can’t be refilled.
