One of the first guests Rei had at her new ryokan in Kinosaki Onsen was Sako Atsuhiro.Sako is a model guest. He tidies up his room on his own, he is polite to all the staff, he is ecstatic about the food, and he traipses around in yukata and geta to all the onsens, although oddly enough, he still insists on wearing the top-hat around.“The hat—doesn’t quite go with the outfit, Sako-san,” she says gently.Sako adjusts the hat to a more rakish angle, “Now?”She chuckles, “Well—it’s quite charming, really Sako-san, but—perhaps not what you’re going for?”“Well, it already made you smile and laugh, so my day is made,” Sako replies with a grin.
