Jon catalogues the wrinkled shirt, the deep circles under his eyes, the vacant stare. He knocks his shoulder into Tommy’s. “Hey, man how’s it going?” He’s trying not to be obvious, but god, Tommy looks like he needs a hug. Jon wants to do anything to make his best friend feel better; it sucks seeing Tommy like this and he blames himself for not being there for him.
