the songs you grow to like never stick at first

It’s a pleasant, warm night and Chris sings along to Green Day on the radio while he drives. He’s a few streets away from the pizza place and feeling pretty decent about his chances with Hot Pizza Dude. Mentally, he’s rehearsing his perfect pick-up.“Hey! Why are we back at the pizza place?” a small voice from his backseat pipes up.“Jesus!” Chris yelps, jumping a foot in the air. He’s lucky they’re stopped at a red light. Chris cranes his neck backwards to check the backseat, something he neglected to do before leaving. Two little faces stare back at him.
