Summary
This is my attempt to somehow make sense of the words Thranduil says to Legolas at the end of The Hobbit movies. A fix-it, with liberal bending of canon in both canon-verse and movie-verse. I've compressed the timeline from Bilbo's birthday party and when Frodo actually leaves the Shire.This is one of my earliest fics, that I found when I was going through my stuff at ffnet this week. So it's ancient--like 2016 time frame.
