Summary
A vain jackdaw flew over the King’s palace gardens and noticed a flock of beautiful peacocks. To try and fit in with the peacocks, he picked up some cast-off peacock feathers and stuck them in with his own black feathers. He then strutted among the other jackdaws superiorly with his borrowed feathers before entering the peacocks’ garden. They instantly saw the impostor for what he was, plucked out his borrowed feathers and some of his own and chased him away. He tried to go back to his fellow jackdaws but they remembered his snooty behaviour towards them and cast him out.
