Summary
When Beau comes up with nothing else to say, Yasha tilts her head, beckoning, and her smile goes gentle, like Beau has said all of this out loud. Beau closes the distance and bends at the waist to kiss Yasha gently on the mouth. Yasha pulls back just enough to beam up at her. “Hello, you.”Beau’s face goes hot. She’s going soft. It’s just horrendous. Her face hurts from smiling. Yasha, seemingly oblivious to the way she’s absolutely ruining Beau, turns to her new front yard and gestures with a flagstone. “I wanted to know if you were okay with me finding something else to pave a path with before I tore this up. I also was wondering if you want a little porch like the one at the Clay’s. I’ve never had a porch, but it was nice to sit on with you that night.”Beau has a brief image of dozing off to sleep against Yasha’s warmth while they watched Molly. The memory tugs at her heart in a different way- a way that actually hurt-aches, and she smothers it. Another time. Her girlfriend is being cute. She can think about her regrets later when she’s going for a run, or when they’re sparring in the little ring Yasha was quick to designate for them in the middle of the back garden.
