Summary
Kravitz found him in the kitchen, which wasn’t surprising. He’d never seen Taako more at home than he was in a kitchen.
He was up to his elbows in flour and his hair was held back by a familiar red kerchief. His jaw was clenched tight and his cheeks were red and his eyes were shining.
Kravitz watched him swallow, watched it catch in his throat, and cleared his own.
“Darling, it’s late,” he said, even though it was technically early.
“Elves don’t need sleep.”
“That’s never stopped you before.”
A lie, and an obvious one, but one wrapped up in enough truth to get the point across.
