Summary
I'm not posting this idea because I can't figure this out without a Mary-Sue or the frequently painful person-from-the-real-world-fixes-the-fictional-universe plot. Basically, someone travels back in time from a post-second-Death-Star era, but tries to counter Palpatine by counter-plotting rather than confronting him.
