花吐病 | Hua Tu Bing

WenQi Week Day 2: FlowersThere was a time – Lan Qiren muses – when he considered Wen Ruohan his friend. Yet in the face of Lan Qiren’s responsibilities and Wen Ruohan’s ambitions, their paths had long diverged. Now is not the time to think of such things, but as he sees yet another one of the disciples collapse with petals falling from her mouth, Lan Qiren is glad they have no visiting disciples at the moment, which had brought Wen Ruohan to mind. For the summer when Lan Qiren met him, Wen Ruohan had arrived as precisely a guest disciple.Lan Qiren rubs his forehead and lets out a single dry cough from sheer exhaustion. Thankfully, he has sent his nephews into seclusion beforehand. The Hua Tu Bing had come from the east, suddenly and without warning. There had been reports of this strange disease in Dongying, but nothing concrete. Gusu’s position on the east coast had made it one of the areas affected first.
