Summary
There are two strains of Hanahaki Disease, though one is far less known than the other.Type A is the one everyone knows, contracted with the perception of unrequited love and cured through the return of said love, although it doesn't kill anywhere near as often as stories make it out to. Type B is a chronic condition, with little understood cause and little available in terms of treatment for its various symptoms. Both cause the victim to grow flowers in their lungs and cough up their petals, and both cause the victim to grow flowers with meaning relevant to the person's emotional and mental state. Beat tries to hide it, but the Reaper's Game brings many things to light. Neku may not be good with people, but he's always enjoyed flowers and the meanings people have put into them. Death brings them together, and their lives weave together even when circumstances pull them apart again.
