Summary
Green Arrow rewound the tape to the first moment that Dave appeared on camera. Even here, before the fight, Dave looked disheveled. He appeared to be springing into the air from the shadows of a large crate, unnoticed as yet. Below him lay a ratty-looking duffel bag shoved into the L-shape created by the storage units.
He sighed to have his suspicions confirmed. He’d almost certainly been squatting in that warehouse. It was to the boy’s credit that his instincts had been to incapacitate only. A brave boy, Oliver thought. Brave and used to fighting. What had left Dave Strider sleeping on the streets in a hero’s uniform, so bitter and so completely alone? Cast adrift, alone in a strange new place, Dave decides that if you can't beat 'em you might as well join 'em. He already had the uniform for it, and hell if he's got anything better to do. Why not become a superhero? Only, there's a little more of an agenda to it than that, and maybe it turns out he's got more in common with these people than he'd thought. Whatever. Might as well have some fun while he figures out what the hell he's gonna do with the rest of forever stuck here.
