While on assignment one day, Thanatos stops to witness a certain play by the humans, where love had driven a mortal to do strange things. Spurned by the woman he loved, the mortal waited outside her lodgings every night for a year. He endured the rain, the snow, the hot sun and cold, dark evenings — hoping that his love would eventually come outside and accept him.Thanatos had always thought the mortals stupid for enjoying such ridiculous stories. The thought of someone enduring such demeaning servitude for another was even more ludicrous in his mind… that is, until Zagreus leaves the Underworld for the Surface and stays there, and Thanatos finds himself going crazy because of it.Suddenly, those mortals he’d looked down upon don’t seem so foolish anymore.
