Everybody knew about Orpheus. He once lived and died in this world – a long time ago. A time long before any of them knew. The man before the battered saffron-robed girl was not Orpheus. He was no god, no daemon roaming this world, only a puny little mortal man devoid of any supposed mystical powers, encased in frailty, in flesh and blood – the man himself, Onomakritos, knew it very well. But “Orpheus” is the only name everyone who topped with him through the road would know.Neither was the girl in front of him “Eurydice”. Her real name didn’t matter.
