“You can’t be serious,” Aki says. “Don’t be dense. This is a hospital. I’ll get thrown out of here the second I open a flame.” He drops his voice. “You’re still not well, Angel. I can’t— I don’t want to be the reason you don’t get better.”

“You’re such a square,” he says, and as he rolls his eyes to the ceiling, Aki notices they’re bloodshot, bright red spiderwebs polluting the white. “I just wanna do it once,” he whispers, still not meeting his eyes. “I wanna remember it. Before I have to die again.”

Against his better judgement, Aki finds himself taking care of the Angel Devil.
