A Ravkan Cinderella

The notorious and feared "Black Tsar" of Ravka, Aleksander Morosov, has yet to take a wife. Three Bride-Shows have taken place in three years, where the nobility has selected potential matches from the populace, but the tsar has rejected each and every one. Now the fourth year running—Alina Starkova, a simple fish-monger's daughter, has been plucked from the masses and thrown into a world of politics she barely understands. Can she learn to swim and capture the heart of the tsar, or will she sink and be sent home—rejected like dozens of girls before her?Inspired by Cinderella and rags-to-riches fairytales, coupled LOOSELY with historical Muscovite bride-shows (English language sources are severely lacking on details, so I've taken a lot of liberties).
