Summary
Angel stared at the letter, eyes unmoving and unfocused. A bird chirped outside and they blinked, eyes focusing back on the bottom of the page.
That was not how they were expecting their Tuesday afternoon to go.
They sucked in a breath and felt a frustration bubble up in them. They frowned and pulled out their phone, dialing their Mate’s number and waiting with tears in their eyes as it rang. There was a clicking sound and David answered.
“Hey Angel.”
It was his normal voice. There was nothing special to it. He was ready for a yes. He was ready for a no. He was ready for them to say they weren’t ready. He was ready for them to say they needed time to think about it.
“How dare you?”
