The reason may never be known, perhaps reality had been cracked enough, perhaps there was too much energy in one place, but the portal shattered, opening a wormhole, nay, a wall of another world into this reality.While the beings of this universe were strong, able to control reality, they could not manipulate matter from another universe, practically all of their weapons and abilities they had developed over the past few eons were useless. A few picked up physical objects, decorative swords, axes, knives, but they were no use. The hides of the creatures were too strong for any normal weapon to pierce. The overwhelming numbers of creatures pouring out of the gateway overwhelmed the beings once living in peace, and trillions were slaughtered.And then the slate was wiped clean.
