Summary
It is the year 1389, and Hob Gadling walks into The White Horse to support a friend in mourning over drinks. The night gets a tad out of hand, they get drunk. Hob calls death stupid and decides he will simply not die. A stranger with a ruby about his neck approaches Hob, talking about a meeting in the year of Our Lord 1489, and, well. Who is Hob Gadling to refuse such an interesting proposal?[or: the 1389 meeting, told from Hob Gadling’s perspective.]
