Summary
The story takes place in an alternate reality a year and a half after the original Abydos mission. Portal Command has been a failure, and is about to be shut down for the second and final time. That is until Catherine Langford brings news of the activities of the man who once declined to join them, and the amazing discovery he's made that will save the Program. If Jack can persuade him to accept the offer he once refused.
