Those who see spirits often have trouble bending. That was certainly true for Powder, who couldn't hold a spark for more than a moment. It took years to come to terms with her abnormal bending - years to become strong in spite of it - years to become Jinx. And yet, even after finding her strength and her place in Silco's ranks, spirits dogged her mind. If she could just get away from herself for a while, maybe things would somehow get better...Or maybe things would become more complicated than ever.(Basically, you know how in ATLA, Zuko wears his Blue Spirit mask and goes out to cause trouble? Jinx does the same thing, and accidentally befriends the Firelights.)
