It took a long time for Natasha and Loki to become friends. It took even longer before either of them were able to use that word.Even then Loki was wary. He’s never had friends before, except for Thor. And even that relationship has been strained of late. He’s terrified of doing the wrong thing, of losing this. He’s come to depend on Natasha’s friendship.All of which is to say that he was careful. Very, very careful. He measured words and didn’t act without first ensuring that he understood the proper cues.His vigilance slowly melted away however. And when it did he wished it hadn’t.
