Moist von Lipwig's been invited to a charity auction at the home of the Lady Sybil Vimes... which also just so happens to be, if you recall, the home of one Samuel Vimes, and Moist is handling himself as well as you can expect (overcompensating into territory that oozes of "ass-kissing"), but at least he has Adora on his arm to keep him grounded.But then he spies a very particular auction item. A piece of rope he didn't expect to ever see again, at least not in this life. A piece of rope that an idiot named Albert Spangler once signed at the behest of his hangman.Moist could have sworn he used to be better at dealing with this sort of stress.
