Long ago, Diavolo married the Morning Star, Lucifer. The two ruled the Devildom together as kings. The Devildom had achieved its goal to unite the three realms in peace and understanding, and all that was left was to enjoy one another's company.Then, Lucifer's candle had burned out. In an effort to save his life, Diavolo gave what was left of his. His too burned out not long after, and both kings were buried together in the Mausoleum for eternal rest.The two love each other in death. However, on the surface, there is a young CEO named Diavolo who inherited Corvo Hotels from his father. He has a childhood best friend named Lucifer, a college professor for the local university.The only one who knows who they used to be is Barbatos, Diavolo's loyal attendant, but he cannot tell them himself that they used to be kings.
