Gentle flakes of snow float downward in lazy drafts, enough to be noticeable but not to be bothersome. None of them stick to Akira’s glasses, which is another minor miracle Akira is guiltily grateful for when it means his vision is completely unobscured to watch the little white stars melt into sparkling dewdrops along the collar of Akechi’s coat and in the wisps of his hair.Beneath the warm glow of the streetlamps and the few still-illuminated storefronts, he looks damn near ethereal. Akira has never been one for unnecessary chatter, but even if he was, he doesn’t think he could break the silence if he was paid to do it.
