The Legend Lives On

The day Alex opened the doors to the Black Lantern, bloody and bruised, is an image she wishes she could unsee.  It took her knees out from under her, her world spun off its axis and the only thing she could do was grab onto her shoulders, to prove that she wasn't going anywhere.  She couldn't give herself enough time to think, because sooner than she knew it they were on a trip to the hospital.  It was only when she came home and hit the bed that she realized everything could've been taken away from her again.No sleep that night, or the next.  Not that hospital chairs serve as a good bed anyways.The only thing that gave her any sense of comfort was the fact that she was there through thick and thin.  She couldn't say the same about Chloe.  Or Rachel.  Or even Gabe.  She wasn't there for them when it mattered most.  They never got the chance to die surrounded by the people who cared about them most.  But she hoped that they died knowing they were loved.  She hoped Steph was there in spirit.
