There are small petals, five of them dotting his palm, sitting there innocently. They’re soft to the touch when Izuku shifts them with his thumb, and pale red in color. He can’t tell what flower they could be from. Izuku stares at them, face completely blank. It hits him, a few seconds later. He just coughed up petals.

It isn’t a quirk, he knows that for sure; students aren’t allowed to leave U.A., and he’s only been to class and the on-campus gym. Eyes widening, Izuku’s whirring brain slows to a stop. Shortness of breath, coughing, pain in the chest and throat, petals.
